Ivy~ 20 months old

Ivy is growing up so fast. I almost teared up a few days ago. I was waking Ivy up and Lena was sitting next to me. Ivy peeked her eyes open and then stretched. Lena said "mommy, give her just another minute, she is growing". Aww! That is something I had told Lena when Ivy was only a few days old and I cannot believe she remembered. Newborns stretch a lot and Lena asked what she was doing. I told her she was stretching so she can grow big like her. I guess she thinks that every time Ivy stretches she is growing :)

I took her out tonight for some pictures and tried to find some fall color. This was tbe best I could find. I wish we had those beautiful firey red, orange, and yellow leaves like they do up north!

Five years ago my dad left this world. I miss him every single day. I know he is up in heaven watching my babies grow up, I just wish he could hug them every once in a while.

I am a little behind on my blogging again. Darn Facebook! I will try to remember to post here also.

Here is miss Lena's 5th birthday portraits. She is growing up so fast. She swears that she is going to stay a little girl forever and refuses to grow up. She also says she is never getting married or having babies lol.

and this was after her first trip to Sweet and Sassy :) She LOVED it there!!

Ivy is 18 months old now. She is growing up to fast just like her sister. I complain daily about having to change diapers and wash diapers (we use cloth diapers) but to be completely honest I really think I will miss it. Ivy is our last baby and I am starting to feel pretty sad that I will never have another baby.

I thought we should have some fun out in the rain. I showed these to Matt after he came home from work. He says "what?!? you let her play in the street!". Ya Matt, I just let her run around and play all day in the street lol. I was right there with her and there were no cars around. Plus we were out there for all of 5 minutes :)

This was our last trip to the pool for 2010. Another summer is gone, but I love these images. Some of these were taken my me and some by my friend Susie :) Thanks Susie!

So since I found facebook I have been neglecting my blog. My last post Ivy was only 1 year old, now she is 17 months old!!

I went through a funk where I stopped taking pictures of my wonderful kids. Why? Well because I was working so much and when I was around my own kids I just wanted to play with them. I started feeling guilty that I would have no pictures from the summer so I grabbed the camera and told Matt to get in the car. We drove around for a while so I could find the perfect field. It did not take long! I found this sunflower field behind a store in north Irving. Matt complained at first because he did not want to stop on the side of a road or hike through high grass. We got lucky and found the perfect spot. It is right next to the back of a parking lot, so there was parking spaces PLUS it was only a few feet off of the concrete. woohoo! score!

I cannot believe this year has gone by so fast. Ivy is getting so big and independent lately. She just started to walk too. Well she can walk about 4-5 feet. She likes to feed herself and she does not like the child gate :)

I did some pictures for her birthday invitations. She loved her cake!!

Last night my mom was driving the kids and had an accident. Kai is fine but Lena hit the tv that was on the headrest. She has a scrape and a bruise. It could have been so much worse :( Here is what the van looks like now.

and she did great! She is a little whiney now and insists of keeping the gauze in her mouth. I ended up having to duck out of the room while they pulled it. I am a little freaky about teeth. I cringe when I even think about it!

My baby girl is growing up so fast. It makes me so sad that she is my last baby. I guess I will be headed into a new stage of life with older kids, but I will miss their baby years so much.

Kai graduated Kindergarten today. I admit, I cried a little. He looked so grown up! He got a hair cut yesterday too :) He is so handsome!
The graduation was a little annoying. We got there early and found a seat next to the middle isle about half way down. As soon as it started about 6 parents walked right up to the front of the isle blocking everyone elses view. At first I thought they would just snap a quick picture of their kid and go sit back down. Nope, these parents just stood there! After about 5 minutes I had to say something. I wasnt the only one annoyed because at the exact same time I started to say something another parent stood up to say something. All of them sat down except one. She ignored everyone and continued to stand directly in my view of Kai. I was so annoyed! Some people have no manners. I with the principal or someone would have asked them to sit.

We got a new trampoline over the weekend! It is Kai's new favorite thing. He spent the whole weekend on it. We put the water hose on it and he loved it! We tried to attach a sprinkler to the side but it did not work out. He likes to be able to spray people anyways lol.

Bluebonnets! My friend and I took our kids out for some bluebonnet fun this evening. It was hard getting around this big hill, but totally worth it. I only fell twice, luckily I wasnt holding Ivy! Here is a little advice though, never wear flip flops to a steep hill of flowers!!!

We went on a tour of a small dairy farm in Plano this week. It was fun! The kids got to see where milk comes from. They had the most fun with the calves. These little guys were really thin :( It made me sad, but they looked like they were well taken care of.

We took a little trip to the Pumpkin Patch today and got some pumpkins. It was a little warm and dusty there so we did not stay long. We had fun and the kids got to ride a little tractor pulled train. That was their favorite part. We are not very good at Halloween traditions and this is the first time all of us have been there together. I took Kai once when he was 16 months old, but that was the only time he has ever been. Lena has never been there. We are such slackers! I am glad we were able to make it today :)

Well it was fun for a few minutes! Lena kinda had a hard time and lost her patience. I told Matt the driving range wasnt really a place for a 3 year old, but he never listens. Kai was trying to help her and stood right behind her when she swung at a ball. Bad idea. He got smacked in the forehead and has a nice bump now.

We had Kai's party today at Amazing Jakes. It was awesome!!! They have unlimited passes for parties and the kids had a blast. We ended up staying for 6 hours!!! I am so tired. I took tons fo pictures but here are a few highlights :)

Lena was so brave! There was this alien ship ride. It went pretty high in the air (10 feet) so I thought she would be afraid. She asked to ride, then I was sure she would start crying as soon as it started. I was shocked when she squeeled with excitement when it went up. She loved it!

We went to this awesome park today to play. It is so awesome with a creek, lots of trees, and a fun playground. The kids had fun... and so did I :) I took my new lens out to play!

Lena's first ER trip

Poor Lena! Kai jumped off the cabinent today and landed on her. Her face hit the tile and she bit a whole through her lip and knocked her tooth back. It was a mess! We went to her doctors after hours clinic (it happened Sunday at 2). They said that we needed to go to Childrens because they didnt do stitches. At first they wanted to put her under because it was her lip but she had just eaten before it happened. They would have had to wait 6 hours and that was too long. They finally just gave her some light sedation and strapped her down. They put her in a neck brace, and wrapped her up a backboard. She looked so pitiful! After they were done an ER dentist came in because her tooth was knoched back quite a bit and was bleeding at the gums. The dentist saw her and said it was ok because it was not loose so that meant it was not fractured. She said to just keep a close eye on it and if it turned grey or formed a blister or knot on the gums that meant the tooth had died and was abcessing and would need to be pulled. I hope it doesnt! She is way too young to loose her first tooth.

Easter fun

This was a wonderful Easter! I realized I do not take nearly enough pictures of my kids just being kids. I always take potraits, but not pictures of them just playing. I have been trying to work on that. So on Easter I decided to bring the camera! We spent the day at my aunt Lynda's house. My only sister does not have any kids yet, but my cousins have plenty! My aunt has 8 grandkids so far so my kids got to play with their second cousins all day. They had a blast. I was a little sad though. I grew up with all of them and my dad was the one who was always running around with a camera. He took pictures of me and my cousins in this same yard and now I am taking pictures of my kids and my cousins kids. Now he is gone and I have the camera. It just made me really miss him and I would give anything to have him here with us.

So anyways, here are some pictures. When I took these I was just trying to capture the moment. After I pulled them from my camera and looked at them I actually remember what it felt like to be that young. It all came rushing back. I remembered things I hadnt thought of in years and years.

I remember how it felt to jump and to feel like I was going so high!

I remember how it felt for a big person to throw you up in the air and how it felt to really fly

I remember how far I could see when I climbed a tree

and then I think about the things my little girl is missing. She is missing her Papa. She will never know him, but sometimes she can play with someone elses grandpa for the day :)

omg where did the time go? It seems like she was just born. Her party was Sunday and was so caught up I did not even get the camera out till after the cake was cut *gasp* I did manage to snap a few quick ones of Matt and Lena playing with some bubbles. We were trying to coax her out of her new Barbie jeep. She had been in it all day. It was so tiring because she cannot steer. So she goes till she runs into a fence or tree then we have to go turn her around.

Last month we were able to go see my dad's ashes blasted into space. It was a beautiful day and know my dad was there too. It was hard, the desert is not an easy place to watch after kids. The whole launch lasted 15 minutes. They actually lost the rocket for a few minutes. Here are a few images from that day
